Members of WeAreTheCity in Mumbai turned out on 30 May for an exclusive event hosted by Thadomal Shahani Centre For Entrepreneurs (TSCFE).
Targeted at women who run their own company, or who are thinking of setting up their own venture, the seminar explored new age marketing ideas available at little or no cost which can greatly propel any new business.
Maya Shahani, Chairperson of TSCFE, welcomed the participants and spoke about the importance of providing support for new Indian female entrepreneurs and the benefits their successes will bring to the Indian economy.
Maya Shahani said: “We were delighted to welcome so many aspiring entrepreneurs to this event and we hope that we have helped the development of some new successful businesses. The importance of social media when building a new business cannot be underestimated and today’s female entrepreneur can create significant competitive advantages by building a strong presence online.”
The main event speaker was Harish Keswani, Program Director at TSCFE. With 27 years of marketing experience, Harish is an established techno-marketing specialist. Harish demonstrated the many online tools which can used by entrepreneurs to increase their company’s profile, develop their corporate brand, promote new products and services, and attract and communicate with customers. Harish brought the subject to life by featuring three successful women who have successfully established their business by targeted use of social media tools and encouraged the audience to share their experiences through an interactive discussion.
Representing WeAreTheCity India were Jo Gaglani and Tejal Gandhi – both women entrepreneurs in their own right. Jo Gaglani said, “WeAreTheCity India is delighted to be associated with such a prestigious organisation as TSCFE. Both of our organisations strive to support and empower women in business and we look forward to more such events in the future.”
Tejal Gandhi said, “As the founder of my own business, I personally found the topic extremely useful. I am looking forward to putting some of these ideas into practice and want to thank all the team from Thadomal Shahani Centre For Entrepreneurs for partnering with us today and providing such a beneficial seminar for our members.”
